Colchagua is one of the Chilean wine valleys with the most international prestige, in which Viña Montes was a pioneer in establishing its production. This valley is located in the central zone of Chile, less than two hours driving from its capital, Santiago. Our beautiful vineyards are located in one of the best terroirs in the area, Apalta. Its unique characteristics and location, allow a mild exposure to the sun of the vines, which contributes to a slow, although more complete maturation of the grapes. In the same valley, between the Coastal Range and the sea, we find our Marchigüe vineyards, immersed in an undulating landscape that ends in the Pacific Ocean (25 km away), where our red grapes mature slowly under the influence of somewhat colder temperatures.

In the areas of Zapallar, Leyda and Casablanca, in Aconcagua Costa, all less than two hours driving from Santiago, our vineyards are located. The grapes develop under the influence of the sea, with cold breezes from the Pacific Ocean, which allow the vines to develop a unique elegance and character. In this valley, cold weather varieties are preferred, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Viñedo Zapallar - just 7 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and located in the northern part of the Aconcagua Costa winemaking region, Viña Montes is the only winery with vines planted in this new D.O., characterized by cool, cloudy summer mornings, with sun at midday, and afternoons that see clouds reappearing with low temperatures. These conditions favor a slow ripening of the grapes that allow them to develop complexity and powerful aromas.
